Conference to accept and evaluate “Study of optimizing coal preparation and transport in Ha Long region by 2020” at grassroots level

On November 25, 2016, the Technology and Science Enterprise “Vinacomin Industry Investment Consulting Joint Stock Company” held the conference to accept and evaluate at grassroots level the “Study of optimizing coal preparation and transport in Ha Long region by 2020” managed by MSc. Dao Ngoc Hiep – Manager of Mineral Processing and Mechanical Department.

At present, coal mines in Ha Long region maintain small-size and scattered coal preparation lines; there is not any specific planning for individual mines; some coal mines have to employ other units in order to meet the coal processing and preparation capability of the mines. Prepared coal types depend completely on the input coal quality. A majority of coal mines apply the dry screening technology to separate coal grain sizes, thus leading to big loss of coal resources to the coal industry and country. The national energy security issue becomes increasingly urgent, so the study puts forward solutions to planning the preparation of Ha Long region to meet the preparation capability of mines, supply enough coal for the region, supplement coal for other users nationwide and limit environmental pollution during the preparation. From the consumption and preparation volume within and beyond the region, it is possible to orient the transport routes and modes of Ha Long region in order to supply enough coal for consumers, minimize environmental pollution during the coal transport and get the highest economic efficiency. 

At the conference, the members of the Acceptance Council contributed many ideas so that the study cadres could complete the study summary report before December 10, 2016 and submit it to the Vinacomin-level Technology and Science Council for consideration and approval.
