Consortium Bidder works with Long Son Petrochemicals Co., Ltd

On the morning of May 15, 2015, a meeting for clarifying the coal handling system package between the VIMCC – IEMM – VMEC – VITE consortium bidder and Long Son Petrochemicals Co., Ltd took place at the head office of Vinacomin Industry Investment Consulting Joint Stock Company.

The meeting was attended by representatives of VIMCC including Deputy Director Le Viet Phuong, Manager of Mineral Processing and Mechanical Department Dao Ngoc Hiep, and Building Engineer Mac Van Nam. The meeting was attended by Mr. Chu The Hanh – Electric Engineer of VITE, Mr. Tran Duc Tho – Mechanical Engineer of IEMM. As for Long Son Petrochemicals Co., Ltd side, there were Mr. Pornchai S. – Mechanical Leader, Mr. Vinh – Project Controller and Mr Chonkritipat J. – Electric Engineer.

With the total investment of approximately 4 billion USD and capacity of over 3 million tons of products per year, this is a large-scale independent petrochemicals complex project. The complex will be built on an area of 400 ha at Long Son Industrial Zone, Long Son commune, Ba Ria – Vung Tau province; it is close to the Long Son Oil Refinery project.

Together with Dung Quat, Nghi Son and Long Son oil refineries, this project plays an important role in the development strategy of the Vietnam petroleum industry in the future.

Overview of Long Son Petrochemicals seaport

Once the project complex is put intooperation, it will supply 1.45 million tons of polyethylene (PE) andpolypropylene (PP), 730 tons of input chemicals for producing polyvinylchloride (PVC) and 840,000 tons of other primary chemicals for the chemical andpetrochemical industries, meeting 65% of the PE and PP demand of the whole countryand contributing to stabilizing the input material sources of the petrochemicalindustry. The project also consists of other auxiliary works such as port,jetty, storage, power plant, etc.

At the meeting, the parties discussedmatters associated with the coal handling system package such as projectexecution progress, scope of work, systems as well as facilities for thepackage, etc.

With an open-hearted and activeworking spirit, the meeting ended successfully with mutual unanimity.
