The 25th national mining technical scientific conference

On August 13, 2016 at Cua Lo of Nghe An province, Vietnam Mining Science and Technology Association has organized the 25th national mining technical scientific conference with the subject: "Vietnam mining Industry in the period of international integration and climate change".

The conference was attended by members of Central Executive Committee of Vietnam Mining Science and Technology Association: Mr. Tran Xuan Hoa – Chairman, Mr. Phung Manh Dac – Standing vice Chairman and General Secretary and more than 350 delegates of 105 units of mine technological and scientific Association in the fields of coal – mineral and gas oil.

The conference was welcomed the distinguished guests: Prof. DSc. Dang Vu Minh - Chairman of the Union of Vietnam Science and Technology Associations; Mr. Huynh Thanh Dien - Vice Chairman of Nghe An provincial People's Committee; Mr. Le Minh Chuan – Chairman of Vietnam National coal – mineral Industries Holding Corporation Limited (Vinacomin) and Member of the 14^th National Assembly; Mr. Lai Hong Thanh - Deputy General Director of General Department of Geology and Minerals of Vietnam; Mr. To Xuan Bao - Deputy Director of Industrial Safety Techniques and Environment Agency under Ministry of Industry and Trade; Mr. Nghiem Xuan Da -General Director of the Vietnam Steel Corporation; Nguyen Xuan Thieu - Permanent Vice Chairman of Union of Science and Technology Associations in Ha Tinh province; the Chairman and the Vice Chairmen of the 13^th Vietnam Mining Science and Technology Association, together with the former Chairman, former Vice Chairmen of the Association’s Executive Committee and representatives of Institutes, Universities, Colleges, Departments of Vinacomin, PVN and Editor of Mining Industry Journal and Coal - Mineral Journal…

 In particular, the Conference also welcomed Deputy Minister of Industry and Trade Mr. Tran Quoc Khanh - Chief negotiator of Trans-Pacific Partnership Agreement (TPP) of Vietnam. Despite not attending the opening ceremony, however, in the early afternoon, the Deputy Minister was present with the important speech on the negotiation process and the importance of Trans-Pacific Partnership Agreement between Vietnam and other countries.

With the subject " Vietnam mining Industry in the period of international integration and climate change", among more than 150 reports, Report collection of the Conference has selected 108 reports with the topics: 1) the impact of international integration and climate change for Vietnam mining industry; 2) Geo-mechanic and geo-informatic Technique; 3) Mining technology; 4) Mine construction technology; 5) Mineral processing and using; 6) Safety - Ventilation - Environment; and 7) Mining mechanics and electromechanics. Among them, there are some scientific reports were presented live in the Conference.

Early afternoon session, the Deputy Minister Tran Quoc Khanh has the speech “on the negotiation process and the importance of Trans-Pacific Partnership Agreement between Vietnam and other countries". For nearly two hours, Deputy Minister Tran Quoc Khanh has presented lively about FTA Agreements between Vietnam and EU, Russia, South Korea, ASEAN Association, especially Trans-Pacific Partnership Agreement (TPP) which Vietnam is a party. The Deputy Minister described the negotiation process and mentioned the opportunities and challenges of Vietnam in general and the mining industry in particular. Accordingly, joining the FTA Agreement in general and TPP Agreement in particular, Vietnam will have the opportunity to expand and diversify the export and import market avoiding being dependent on one area as previously. The new market with more than 1 billion people, a large proportion of GDP on the world, tariff barriers abolished virtually is an extremely important factor for the development of the national economy. Besides, being approved the agreements; Vietnam will have the motivation to complete institutions, improve the competitiveness of domestic goods and products, and integrate with the world. However, he also stressed that, in order to these agreements become opportunities, and next, to transform into specific interests, it is very necessary to have our shift about institution to build a government with respectable mechanisms and policies, macroscopic strategies and specific action in the areas of the economy. With lively presentation, the speech of the Deputy Minister attracted the listener's attention by conveying the hot issues associated with the development of the country.

Mr. Do Hong Nguyen - Party Secretary, Director of Vinacomin Industry Investment Consulting Joint Stock Company (VIMCC) is the delegation leader and 12 staffs with 06 articles published in the Report collection, among them, the article of MSc Nguyen Viet Cuong and DSc Tran Minh Nguyen on the field of Mining technology “Research and application of the fully-mechanized working face with recovering roof coal by back scraper conveyor and orientation of underground mining mechanized development”. The article mentions the actual situation of the fully-mechanized working face application in underground coal mines; Fully-mechanized working face with recovering roof coal by back scraper conveyor at Ha Lam coal Mine; Evaluating the results of the fully-mechanized working face application in underground coal mines; Orienting the development and proposing the work of underground coal mining mechanization.

In addition the reports presented at the Conference have mentioned many issues, the general discussions with general features mentioning the difficulties, challenges in integration and climate change, and the solutions of the mining industry including coal, minerals and oil and gas, development orientation of applying science and technology to meet the requirements of international integration and adaptation to climate change and the articles mentioned the specific solutions of mines.

The Conference ended successfully and this is the 50th anniversary of establishment of Vietnam Mining Science and Technology Association. The success of the Conference is also practical gift to celebrate this event./.
