Meeting to adjust the coal industry development master-plan

Deputy Prime Minister Hoang Trung Hai hosted a meeting to consider the adjustment of the coal industry development master-plan in conformity with some new happenings and situations.

                 
The master plan for developing the coal industry of Vietnam by 2020 with consideration of prospects by 2030 (called 60 Master Plan) has been worked out since early 2012. Since then, the contents of the master plan have been developed according to the set orientations. However, there are some issues which need updating, evaluating and adjusting in accordance with the actual situation.

For example, the coal reserves and resource exploration results have many changes against the 60 Master Plan, the implementation progress of some exploration and mining projects does not meet the requirements, there is an overlapping among the master plans of the locality and the master plan 60. Especially, the coal demand of domestic users has many changes against the forecast at the time of preparing the Master Plan.

Otherwise, the coal industry also has big changes in ownership when Dong Bac Corporation separates from Vietnam National Coal-Mineral Industries Holding Corporation Limited, it is necessary to re-arrange the owners of some projects,  resource management boundary, etc.
